Wreaths

To begin, I like to start by hanging a colorful spring wreath, because it's the FIRST THING you see. Whether it's on your front door, or your garage to house door, or apartment door-it can't help but brighten your mood every time you come home.  If you're into DIY, wreaths are simple and fun to make. Plus, you can customize your favorite colors or decorations. But if you're like me and not able to DIY, I've got a few of my favorite spring wreaths right now.

Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers. THE single most important element to making your home brighter and more spring-like. You really can't overdo it. So go crazy! Add single stems or arrangements on dining tables, counters, bookshelves, bedside tables, bathrooms, or just anywhere. I like to opt for springy colors such as pinks, yellows, or lavenders and place them in colorful vases or jars for more pop!

Bed Linens

Next, to make the bedroom feel more spring-like, I like to switch bed linens. This is the time to change to lighter, airier bedding in softer spring colors. You will still need layers for warmth but think cottons or linen instead of heavy flannels, or woolen blankets.

Brighten With Wallpaper

I know you're thinking "that is a huge, messy project" but hear me out. Peel and stick wallpaper nowadays that requires no glue or water, not like the old days (which dates me I know)! On removeable wallpaper, the back is coated in adhesive (like a giant sticker) so it's easy to install, and the best part is, it's just as easy to remove by peeling it off the wall, without water or tools. How cool is that! I love the bold, cheerful prints that would perk up any room-with no commitment!

Spring Dinnerware

Don't forget the home decorating inspiration - kitchen edition! I love these dinnerware sets in spring colors that come in different but coordinating botanical prints, perfect to mix and match patterns. Combine spring colored napkins and placemats in lighter spring textiles, to create a beautiful tablescape.

Candles

Now is the time to switch winter candles out as spring approaches. For extra appeal, choose scented candles with fresh, springy scents such as gardenia, daffodils, or lavender.

Bring Spring Indoors With Greenery

Bring spring green inside by adding houseplants, decorative trees, or even artificial green plants throughout your home. I like to place them on shelves, stands, tables, or use as a centerpiece.

Hanging plants are versatile and can be hung anywhere from the ceiling, opening up so many more possibilities.

Mix and Match Prints

Bright, happy, spring colored prints were made to combine! Mix and match them with different prints but in coordinating colors, to enliven a room.

Tablecloths

Brighten your dining area with a pastel tablecloth for spring. Like with bedding, choose a light, airy, breezy fabric. This large gingham pattern creates an especially fetching backdrop on which to layer floral dinnerware or floral arrangements.

Let The Light In

And finally, create a breezy, springy atmosphere by refreshing curtains. As the days get longer, let in the sunlight with sheers, or lighter, breezy linen fabrics.
