How to Declutter and Organize Your Bathroom-Containing the Chaos

I'll admit it. Organizing makes me happy. Does anyone else feels that way? When things are in their place and surfaces are decluttered, it just feels right. And bathrooms have SO many little, tiny products that are used daily, that get cluttered and lost in a drawer or cabinet. It feels like a constant battle between keeping daily products conveniently handy. But also not too convenient, where they become an eyesore sitting on the countertop.

Follow along, for tips and products you'll need to declutter and organize your bathroom-for good! I recently did a serious overhaul in my bathroom, discarding expired medications (Benadryl that expired 4 years ago haha), old makeup, and clutter that had worked its way into bathroom drawers and cabinets. During this organizational frenzy, I found amazing products that were life-changing, and budget friendly, which I can't wait to share with you. Read on for inspiration to declutter your bathroom.

1. Labels

I simply love these labels. I think if you buy them first, they will motivate you to find places to put them! There are 173 labels in this package. This gives you so many choices that include toiletry items, makeup supplies, medication, skin products, just everything. Pro tip: read through the labels and this will help you decide how to separate items into groups and choose which container would be most suited.

2. Containers

These containers come in sets of two drawers. They are stackable so you can create your own configuration to fit your space. Plus, they have non-slip bottoms so they don't move when you open a drawer. I found these on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised upon opening. I have since come to love them the longer I use them. You definitely need to try these. These will change your life! The size is great for all the small things that end up rolling around in bathroom drawers.

3. Baskets

You can't declutter and organize your bathroom with out baskets. I think baskets work best for larger items but there are so many different ways to utilize them. Baskets have pros and cons so choose what meets your goals. Baskets will generally be larger and hold larger products, but they are not as easy to clean as the plastic bins. They will be better at hiding the contents, but will snag on towels or wash cloths. Just a few things to think about before purchasing. Amazon has several types of clip-on label plates, which clip to the top or handle of the basket, giving you a place to add a label. These are either erasable or you can add a sticker type label.

4. And More Containers

Speaking of drawers, no longer will all the small items that like to float around in them, (usually disappearing in the back) be free to roam! This picture is how mine turned out. This set contains 25 small, clear containers in various sizes that hold all the daily items you want to be easily accessible. They are great for bathrooms, but will work well in desk drawers or junk drawers so they are multi-purpose. You'll end up using the whole set.

For the larger items that don't fit into the stackable storage drawer units, such as shampoo, hairspray, and taller things, I used these open top larger bins to store them. And using the matching labels on these containers created continuity throughout the bathroom. I buy in bulk so it works well to have these extra items all together where they are easy to find.

5. Wire Baskets

I ended up choosing these metal wire baskets to hold wash cloths and hand towels. I wasn't a fan of wicker baskets as they would snag and leave debris on the towels, plus, these are much easier to clean than wicker baskets. Towels look cute folded or you can roll them. Whichever way you choose to display them, they are both cute and functional.

6. Makeup Holder

For makeup brushes and pencils, I just use a pot to stand them up, so they are easy to sort through and grab. This pot, (lol) is actually a flower pot from IKEA that cost about $3 but you can use any container, such as small vases, flower pots, or even a pretty wine or champagne glass will work.

7. Essential Oil Diffuser

And finally, this was a splurge item I found while shopping bathroom products that I have come to love. It's a diffuser for essential oils (much healthier to breathe than artificial scents), and it has a nightlight. It makes your bathroom smell like a spa.
